Southsom Publishers was founded with a clear vision: to make available works of exceptional fiction that showcase and highlight the exceptional landscape, culture and history of the West Country of England, particularly Dorset and Somerset.
Since our founding, we have expanded our mission to make our published works available in North America and the Spanish-speaking world. To achieve this, we have appointed agents who are both literary experts and bilingual academics, to assist in an advisory capacity the assessment and review of all works submitted to us, and if necessary, in translation.
We are therefore, now, an international press -- but remain a small enterprise -- we believe passionately that the books we publish should matter.
Our name, Southsom, deriving from our geographical base of South Somerset - speaks to heritage and rootedness.
We are looking to expand our range into enlightening non-fiction, and are always open to submissions of fiction or non-fiction that satisfy our purpose.
