The Unwary Peasant

Oliver (Odge) Lane, the product of an acutely flawed marriage brought about by the self-interest of his sociopathic grandfather, finds himself descending into violence and intense but doomed relationships, in efforts to turn himself around.

Played out in the late 1500s and early 1600s in and around a remote Somerset village, with a foray into the Anglo-Spanish war, the story assembles and dissects Odge's difficult and distorted personality and the effects inculcated into his family members, his friends and his enemies.

Painted on a beautiful, arcadian environment and scenery, the English natural and lingual environment of four hundred or so years ago has rarely been so exquisitely described as in the masterpiece within these pages.
